FAQ

Q: What is The Barstool Classic?

A: The Barstool Classic is a new golf tour for the common golfer presented by Barstool Sports. Players enter as a pair into one of eight qualifying events at which they can earn a place at the Championship event. The winning team from the Championship event will be crowned the The Barstool Classic Champions.

Q: What are the rules/format?

A: The format is 2-man four ball, stroke play at 50% handicaps (each player plays his/her own ball; the best score of the two will be counted as the team’s one score on each hole). All handicaps .5 or higher will be rounded up. At each event, the lowest handicap in the field will play to scratch and the rest of the field will stroke off of that player. Each event will be played under the USGA rules of golf with two footnotes: 1) local rules apply and will be defined before competition; 2) Commissioner Riggs has the final say on everything.

Q: How many qualifying events can i play in?

A: Only one. No exceptions.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Team registrations for all events are $600 (or $300 per person). This includes 18 holes of golf, Happy Hour with Barstool (food and alcohol included), a Premium Gift Bag, cash prizes to first and second place teams and qualifying for the Championship event for top six teams.

Q: Is there an age requirement?

A: Yes, golfers must be 21 or older to participate.

Q: What if I don’t have a GHIN?

A: You need a GHIN or similar USGA compliant handicap to compete. You can sign up online or at the pro shop at a local golf course or golf club. It must be established and verifiable 30 days prior to the event.

Q: How will groupings be paired up?

A: The pairings will be done at random.

Q: What do I get with my registration?

A: Each team registration gets each player: at least one round of golf with range balls and a chance at two rounds, should you quality for the Championship; a Barstool Classic gift bag, the contents of which Commissioner Riggs has selected and designed himself; a full post-round meal complete with appetizers and open bar; meet and greet and hang with Commissioner Riggs and other Barstool personalities; eligibility to win multiple prizes.

Q: Is there a waitlist for sold out events?

A: Yes, you can join our waitlist here. We will reach out if additional spots become available.

Q: Which tees will be played?

A: The course setups will be determined by the Commissioner based on conditions, weather, and instinct.

Q: WhEN IS TEAM registration DUE?

A: In order to participate, you must complete our registration form. Each team registration should be completed no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled event date.

A: The date and location of the Championship have not been finalized yet. It will take place in September/October 2019 and will be in the Northeast at a premium golf course. Qualifying competitors will have free entry to the Championship but are responsible for their own travel costs.

Q: How do I qualify for the Championship event?

A: The top six teams at each qualifying event earn entry (free) to the Championship event.
